May 11th, 2021 — Today we announce the proposal for Kava Swap, the Cross-chain Liquidity Hub.

After successfully launching Kava-5 & HARD Version 2, the next milestone on the Kava 2021 Roadmap is Kava Swap.

Introducing Kava Swap

What is Kava Swap?

Kava Swap is a cross-chain liquidity hub for all DeFi apps and financial services. Its purpose is to enable the aggregation of capital where it can then be deployed seamlessly across different blockchain ecosystems, DeFi Apps, and Financial Services.

At the base level, Kava Swap is a cross-chain Autonomous Market Making (AMM) Protocol that leverages the Kava platform’s DeFi infrastructure, cross-chain bridges, and security. …

Kava SAFU Funds

What is it?

Kava SAFU Fund is an on-chain community pool that will increase the overall safety of the Kava platform by protecting against unforeseeable black swan events while giving users assurity that their funds are safe. The Kava SAFU community pool’s main function is to make users whole after events like unforeseen bugs, exploits, hacks, liquidation failures or other technical issues that result in lost user funds.

These types of events haven’t happened on the Kava platform because of Kava’s architecture, robust testing, audits, and market monitor infrastructure. Now Kava is introducing the latest component in its security and reliability infrastructure; the…

A rebranding of Harvest.io

Brand matters in crypto space way more than people are willing to admit and unfortunately for Harvest.io, the word ‘harvest’ now has a black mark on it forever in the space.

Due to similar brand names, many people have been confusing Harvest.io, Kava’s fully audited cross-chain money market application, with the recently hacked degen DeFi farming app, Harvest.finance.

It’s in the best interest of the application and Kava DeFi platform users to rebrand Harvest.io to avoid confusion and misconceptions. From this day forward, it will be called the “HARD Protocol”. …

Featuring Harvest.io Cross-chain Money Markets and Support for BTC, XRP, BUSD, KAVA, USDX, and HARD Collateral types.

We’re pleased to announce that Kava’s biggest launch of the year, Kava 4 Gateway, is successful. Gateway greatly expands Kava’s capabilities enabling support for BTC, XRP, BUSD, and offers the ability to quickly expand to more assets without requiring any network upgrade. Gateway also includes Harvest.io, the world’s first cross-chain money market application, one of what will be many applications built on the Kava blockchain leveraging Kava’s leading cross-chain infrastructure.

The launch of Gateway starts Kava’s next chapter, where Kava ceases to be…

September 18th, 2020 — Today we announce our proposal for HARD, the world’s first cross-chain money market.

What is the HARD Protocol?

HARD is the world’s first cross-chain money market that enables you to earn more with your digital assets. With HARD you will now be able to lend, borrow, and earn with assets like BTC, XRP, BNB, BUSD, KAVA, and USDX.

It is the first of what will be many applications that utilize the Kava blockchain’s security, price feed module, and cross-chain functionality to provide open and decentralized financial services to the world.

How does the HARD Protocol Work?

There are three major activities:

  1. Supply — You can safely supply your digital assets on HARD and earn interest.
  2. Borrow — You can use your digital assets as…

This article will finally unveil the true vision for the Kava platform and share what it means for KAVA holders and our community in the months to come.

The Kava DeFi Hub

Preface

The community originally compared the Kava platform to MakerDAO and its CDP functionality. Many memes floated around on twitter saying “Kava is a cross-chain MakerDAO” or “Kava is MakerDao for Bitcoin”. While being compared to MakerDAO and their success is flattering, it doesn’t really do justice to what Kava actually is. Kava is much more than a cross-chain lending platform.

Just like Jeff Bezos started Amazon with only books, we were fine…

As many of you might have seen, the recent governance proposal #10 to enable USDX rewards for BNB has failed to pass. Kava Labs amongst others voted against proposal 10 after discovering an issue that limits the increase of BNB deposits on the Kava’s network. A fix to the BNB deposit limit issue is already underway.

With the current BNB limits maxed out by a low number of accounts, the passing of this proposal would have unfairly distributed rewards to only those accounts, leaving no opportunity for new participants to become USDX minters. …

Hello everyone. We are all excited for USDX minting rewards to begin, but unfortunately they will be delayed.

Why is there a Delay?

The Kava Stability Committee was created to adjust a set of Kava parameters quickly, in response to system conditions. In the creation of the Stability Committee, we (Kava Labs) neglected to include delegating one of the parameters that controls turning on/off USDX minting rewards for BNB users. …
